A few of us took off and hit the Klick in south eastern Wa a week ago.. Was a good time with Thurman and his Dad Kevin having the best stretch of river.. I believe the landed 4 in the boat and lost a few others... Jeff had a really nice one on his spey rig the first day but it came undone.. Second day we floated down with the guys from the Evening hatch.. Good group of guides... Was slow fishing, sunny and warm out.. might of put the fish off a little.. All in all a good time, few small smolt caught, some dam big white fish, one king that broke my Dad's line and a few steelies (potential) lost... Had a new guy out with us, Jason.. Unfortunately he didn't get to feel the tug of a Steelie, but did land a whitey... Here is a few pics, Thurman should have some video ready in a few days...

Jeff, Me, and My Dad hit lone lake on Saturday.. Was a bit chilly, little early for full on Chroni action... We did get some takes and landed a few.. I landed two with and another popped off at the boat.. I would say mine was in the 16-17 inch range with one stocky... nice and fat, healthy fish... The darker color Chroni was the ticket, with brown being the best... Dad had one on, but he is still getting the hang of fly fishing... Didn't keep his line tight, fish came off... Jeff had the biggest of the day, about 18 he said... Oh and much to our suprise there were two clubs there having a get together and BBQ.. I would say there were at least 30 boats on the lake.. The parking lot was packed.. I have never seen that many people there... Here is a long distance krappy video I took with my phone... Jeff's whopper..

PEBBLE MINE UPDATE! Anglers and sportsman's groups are applauding this week's announcement by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that the agency is planning an assessment of the Bristol Bay watershed to better understand how future large-scale development projects may affect water quality and Bristol Bay's salmon fishery. EPA initiated this assessment in response to concerns of the risks that the proposed Pebble Mine project poses to the watershed. Visit the
Sportsmans Alliance for Alaska website for more details.
